Jon Frias obtained a Degree in Economics from the University of the Basque Country (Spain) in 2001. He studied this degree course from 1997 until 2001. In 2007, he presented his dissertation (DEA) about the biomass energy and macroeconomic indicators, at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, University of the Basque Country.

His research interests include Derivatives Management, Credit Risk Analysis, Macroeconomic Analysis and Environment.  After submitting his dissertation, he published in 2008 a related article in the book ‘Anales de Economía Aplicada 2008’, and one year later, he also seen published his guide about how to create a credit risk analysis model of scoring, in a book part of the same collection.

He is currently a Ph.D. candidate and works in his Thesis, supervised by Dr. Luis Ferruz, about the European economic trust indicators and the forecasting capacity of the European interest rate futures.

Jon Frias is a member of the European Financial Planning Association since 2008 and has been given classes of Business Administration in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Zaragoza.

He obtained the Spanish Pedagogical Talent Certificate in 2005 and has also given classes of Mathematics and Science in Marianistas Secondary School, Vitoria (Spain).

He currently works in the Capital Markets Dep. in Ibercaja (Zaragoza Savings Bank), managing financial derivatives. It was in this Savings Bank where he won the first prize in the “Ibercaja Initiative Award” in 2006 with his proposal called ‘The Loans Converter’.
